The EU-funded EaPConnect project featured in the programme of the 2023 Internet2 Community Exchange conference that took place in Atlanta, United States on May 8-11. Ramaz Kvatadze, Executive Director of GRENA, the National Research and Education network of Georgia and one of the five EaPConnect project beneficiary partners, spoke at the conference and represented EaPConnect.
Ramaz commented: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to participate and give a presentation on Bridging the Digital Divide in the EaP Region at the 2023 Internet2 Community Exchange conference. I was invited to take part in the Leadership Exchange section for CEOs which focussed on the most pressing challenges that Research and Education networking faces today and highlighted a number of potential solutions too.
The conference’s eclectic programme comprised a great range of sessions, Ramaz listed for us those that impressed him the most: What is Happening in Network Services; Internet2 Network: Routing Integrity, International Networking, Core Network Technologies; A Nordic Vision for Arctic Connectivity; Collaborations in Information Security; Join Internet2 and Radware for updates on our DDoS Mitigation service and a discussion about application security; Cloud Storage Challenges and Opportunities; The Americas Research and Education Networks (AMREN) meeting. Yes, Ramaz must have been very busy in Atlanta!
In particular, the Internet2 Community Exchange programme included expert-led sessions on topics submitted and presented by the community for the community making this international event very engaging and meaningful.
