The Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Science of Armenia (IIAP NAS RA) is now an official member of the esteemed Francophone University Agency (AUF – L’Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie). During a ceremony at IIAP, Madame Laure Castin, AUF’s Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe, presented the membership certificate to Hrachya Astsatryan, Director of IIAP, marking the beginning of a promising partnership. This membership will facilitate collaboration, research opportunities, and academic exchange within the global Francophone community.
IIAP has a rich history of fruitful cooperation with French institutions, particularly with the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT). Notable collaborations include Erasmus projects and joint initiatives, such as the creation of the Charles Aznavour Armenian National Supercomputer Center (ANSCC), supported by the Toulouse Institute of Computer Science (Paul Sabatier University) and ATOS.
This new partnership with AUF reinforces IIAP’s dedication to promoting innovation, fostering knowledge exchange, and strengthening academic ties with the Francophone world. IIAP is committed to contributing to and eager to benefit from this dynamic international network, furthering its mission of research excellence and global collaboration.
Hrachya Astsatryan, Director of IIAP NAS RA, commented: “The essential resources provided by the EaPConnect project to ASNET-AM, the Armenian NREN managed by IIAP, help to enhance staff empowerment initiatives, including training and the exchange of experiences. This approach ensures the long-term sustainability and efficiency of both our team and our institution”.
