GÉANT has agreed to provide network operations support to the EaPConnect project.

Users of the network connections enabled by EaPConnect will benefit from 24/7 service desk and regular service reporting and review provided by a team of engineers also supporting the GÉANT network.

The role of the Operating Centre is to:

  • Diagnose and resolve network or security incidents as well as any issues reported by users to ensure the highest levels of network availability.
  • Proactively monitor the network for any event that either affects or will potentially affect the network quality and to take actions to ensure the highest availability of customer service.
  • Provide customer support for non-incident related enquiries.
  • Act as a co-ordinator of end to end multi domain problems.

EaPConnect will benefit from state-of-the-art assistance from the pan-European network which will further smooth out the integration of the six Eastern Partnership networks into GÉANT.
