The Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia (IIAP NAS RA) is proud to announce that the team — Christine Alaverdyan, Hovhannes Baghdasaryan, and Arevik Navasardyan — secured first place at the prestigious HackForACause 2024 hackathon, which took place online in October.
The event, organised by The Cyprus Institute in partnership with the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, challenged participants to develop innovative AI solutions aimed at improving cancer patient care, an issue of critical importance at global level.
Under the expert guidance of Hrachya Astsatryan, Director of IIAP, the Armenian team created a cutting-edge AI solution designed to address the challenges of polypharmacy, enhance drug safety, and reduce adverse drug interactions. Their work stood out among global participants, showcasing significant potential to support healthcare professionals in making more informed decisions and improving patient outcomes.
This achievement is a proud moment for us, showcasing our commitment to advancing healthcare through technology. Congratulations to Christine, Hovhannes, and Arevik for their hard work and the exceptional result. Special thanks to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society and The Cyprus Institute for organising this impactful event in support of such an important cause.
